What if you could insulation the 500v positive electrode, perhaps put it on outside of glass tube, perhaps using trapped electrostatic charge, like in wax? Remove the dischrage damping gases. Throw a few pieces of legal uranium ore into the tube to continously trigger of new gas avalanches.
